Technician – Quality and sanitation

Reporting to the Quality and Food Safety Manager, the role of the Quality and Food Safety Technician will primarily involve ensuring that the company’s products meet the highest standards of quality and food safety. This role requires close collaboration with production teams to ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to and that products comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct quality inspections of products upon receipt and prior to shipment
  • Perform tests on products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with client specifications and company quality standards
  • Suggest improvements to processes, procedures, and inspection management
  • Ensure effective communication and information transfer with the production and sales teams
  • Coordinate and order export documentation with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
  • Maintain data related to the inspection program
  • Prepare daily production reports
  • Implement measures to enforce safety and sanitation policies
  • Oversee the production process to ensure all products meet quality standards
  • Conduct required tests and, based on results, give daily authorization to begin production lines
  • Manage product holds in the system, identify necessary actions, inspect held products, and complete associated documentation
  • Participate in quality-related complaint investigations
  • Perform other related duties as required

Your Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Holder of a Vocational Studies Diploma (DEP) or a College Studies Diploma (DEC)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French
  • Basic knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of Spanish – an asset
