The Credit and Collections Analyst is responsible for managing risks related to customer credit, analyzing client creditworthiness, and monitoring payments. They aim to optimize collections while maintaining positive customer relationships.
You will thrive in the following responsibilities:
Credit Analysis
- Assess creditworthiness of current and potential clients by reviewing financial statements, payment history, and references
- Recommend credit limits and payment terms based on risk evaluation
- Continuously monitor client portfolio risks and suggest adjustments as needed
Collections Management
- Monitor accounts receivable and identify payment delays
- Contact clients to follow up on due payments and negotiate payment plans when necessary
Reporting and Monitoring
- Prepare regular reports on receivables, credit risk, and collection actions
- Update client records with credit and collection information
Use credit management tools and systems to streamline processes
Process Improvement
- Suggest improvements to credit and collection policies and procedures
- Train teams on best practices in credit management
Credit Insurance Policy Management
- Manage and update the company’s credit insurance policy
- Liaise with the insurer to report claims and follow up on client defaults
- Analyze policy coverage to ensure it aligns with company needs
- Participate in insurer negotiations to optimize policy conditions (coverage, premiums, etc.)
- Provide management with regular reports on policy use and effectiveness
Your talents and qualifications:
- Degree in finance, accounting, or business management
- Previous experience in a similar role (credit analysis, collections, or risk management)
- Familiarity with credit and collection management tools (specialized software, ERP, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Rigorous, organized, and able to prioritize effectively
Proficiency in English (an asset)
