Controller

Reporting to the Vice-President of Finance and Administration, the Controller manages and monitors the company’s financial performance, ensuring compliance with banking, accounting, and tax requirements. They play a key role in tracking financial ratios required by banks, preparing audit files, and implementing internal control procedures.

 

You will thrive in the following responsibilities:

  1. Management and monitoring of financial ratios
  • Calculate and monitor bank-required financial ratios
  • Analyze trends and identify non-compliance risks
  • Develop action plans in case of non-compliance (reduce debt, improve profitability, renegotiate financing)
  • Prepare financial reports for banks and investors with variance explanations and required adjustments
  • Implement real-time monitoring tools for banking ratios to anticipate financing needs and prevent issues

  1. Audit preparation
  • Prepare necessary documentation for financial audits
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to meet their needs
  • Ensure compliance of financial documents with ASPE standards
  • Follow up on audit recommendations and implement corrective actions

  1. Implementation of financial and internal control procedures
  • Develop and document internal financial procedures
  • Establish an internal control framework to detect anomalies and prevent fraud
  • Automate financial controls using reporting and alert tools
  • Train accounting and finance teams on new procedures
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update procedures accordingly

Your talents and qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Holder of or working toward a CPA designation
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • High level of professional ethics and confidentiality
