Reporting to the Vice-President of Finance and Administration, the Chief Accountant oversees all accounting activities of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with current standards. They lead a team of clerks and accounting technicians.
You will thrive in the following responsibilities:
- Supervise the accounting team and ensure account accuracy
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and closing deadlines
- Prepare financial statements and analyze accounting variances
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations and returns
- Oversee payment management and implement internal controls
- Contribute to budget development and monitoring
- Optimize accounting processes and support the digitization of tools
- Support the team in developing new skills
Your talents and qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Holder of or working toward a CPA designation
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- High level of professional ethics and confidentiality
